Commissioner of Taxation thanks John Eales

John Eales, Director of The Peak Partnership and member of the Tax Agents Board of Queensland for the past 9 years, has been recognised for his contribution to the accounting industry.

At the final meeting of the State Tax Agents Boards, held in Canberra on 18 November, the Commissioner of Taxation identified Mr Eales as a great asset to the Tax Agents Board, contibuting to the high professional standards and integrity of the tax profession in Australia.

In his speech to formally close the State Tax Agents Boards, The Commissioner said, "My thanks also go to George Fox's (sic) fellow Board member John Eales who has been a member of the Board for nearly a decade. John has extensive experience in taxation and accounting, and his accomplishments include Fellowships at the Institite of Chartered Accountants and Taxation Institute of Australia. The expertise you brought to the Board has been invaluable".

The six State Tax Boards were formally wound up at the November meeting.
