ASIC set to increase Corporations Fees

ASIC (Australian Securities & Investments Commission) will increase a number of fees from 1 July 2010.

The Federal Government has amended Regulations prescribing fees charged under the Corporations (Fees) Act 2001 and Corporations (Review Fees) Act 2003, to enable those fees to be indexed on an annual basis.

The fees will be indexed each financial year from 1 July 2010 based on any increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for the March quarter immediately before the commencement of the next financial year.

March quarter CPI figures, released on 28 April 2010, have resulted in an increase to fees chargeable under the Regulations. The new indexed fees will be chargeable from 1 July 2010.

Full details of fee changes are available on the ASIC website at http://www.asic.gov.au
