John is one of the founders at The Peak Partnership, leading the creation of the firm in 1979. For 38 years, John was instrumental in developing The Peak Partnership into one of Brisbane's most-respected mid-size financial services firms.
He has spent more than half his lifetime building valued and trusted advisor/client relationships with business owners from a variety of industries – and many have ultimately become close friends. Overwhelmingly, they credit John for his part in helping them achieve a positive financial position.
A technically-proficient Chartered Accountant, John’s greatest attribute is his relationship management skill – well aware that open dialogue is the key to providing meaningful and relevant advice. John specialises in business accounting, tax planning, cash flow forecasting and budgeting, and estate planning.
Following his 'unofficial' semi-retirement in June 2017, John continues to consult to The Peak Partnership team and a number of clients who value his expertise.
When he’s not working, John remains actively involved with Brisbane Tigers (formerly Easts) Rugby League Club – where he won first grade grand finals in the 1970s and was named in the club’s 75th Anniversary Team.
John was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in the 2025 King’s Birthday Honours for his services to child welfare organisations – recognition of his role as Honorary Treasurer of Act for Kids (formerly the Abused Child Trust from 1992 to 2014.
As he embraces a more retired lifestyle, John and his wife Gina plan to spend more time travelling and enjoying their tribe of grandchildren.
